Scams learner drivers are facings

A huge congratulations to everyone on getting rid of the people who were booking driving tests only to resell them for as much as £250.

Driving tests should be available fairly for everyone, not used as a way to make money at the expense of genuine learners. This is a positive step towards a fairer booking system where everyone has an equal opportunity to secure a test.

Let’s continue to support honest, transparent, and legal ways of booking driving tests.

Good luck to everyone preparing for their practical test.

⚠️ Scammers Are Active Again – Please Stay Alert! ⚠️

We’ve noticed that scammers are becoming active again and are trying to exploit learner drivers.

They are advertising driving test dates for sale or swap. Once a learner sends them the money, the scammer often blocks them and keeps the payment, leaving the learner without a test or a refund.

🚫 Please do not pay anyone privately for a driving test date.

Remember:

  • Only book your test through the official DVSA system.
  • Be very cautious of anyone asking for bank transfers or other upfront payments for a test date.
  • If an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Report suspicious accounts and posts to help protect other learners.

Stay safe, protect your money, and don’t let scammers take advantage of your excitement to get a driving test.

Please share this post so more learners are aware.

⚠️ Important Advice for Learner Drivers ⚠️

Before 11 May 2026, some driving instructors and third parties managed driving test bookings on behalf of learners. Since the DVSA rule changes, learners are responsible for booking and managing their own practical driving tests.

🚫 Do not hand over your driving license details or booking information to anyone unless you completely trust them and understand why they need it.

Be especially cautious if someone:

  • Offers to sell you a driving test date.
  • Asks for payment to secure a test.
  • Requests your license number or booking details without a genuine reason.

Always use the official DVSA booking service and keep control of your own driving test account.

Protect your personal information, protect your money, and report anyone you believe is attempting to scam learner drivers.

Please share this post to help keep other learners safe.

Driving instructor are now earning by selling your details to other school

⚠️ Protect Your Personal Data – Know Your Rights ⚠️

When you contact a driving school, you are trusting them with your personal information.

If a driving school cannot provide the service you requested, ask them not to pass your details to another driving school or instructor without your clear permission.

Your personal information, such as your:

  • Driving licence number
  • Name and contact details
  • Email address
  • Test booking information

should not be shared with another business unless you have agreed to it or there is another lawful basis for doing so.

Unfortunately, some businesses may share or sell customer leads to other companies or instructors in return for a referral fee or commission. If this happens without your knowledge or a lawful basis, it may raise data protection concerns.

If you do not want your details shared, tell them clearly:

“I do not consent to my personal information being shared with any third party. If you cannot provide the service yourself, please delete my details rather than passing them to another business.”

Always ask:

  • Will my details be shared with anyone else?
  • Why are they being shared?
  • Have I given permission for this?

Your personal data belongs to you. Know your rights, protect your privacy, and make informed decisions.

🎥 Thinking of Being Filmed During Your Driving Lesson? Read This First. 🚗

Some driving instructors create content for TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, or Instagram. If those videos are monetized, they may generate income from views.

Before agreeing to be filmed, ask yourself:

✅ Have I been asked for my clear permission before being recorded?
✅ Do I understand where the video will be posted?
✅ Am I happy for my face, voice, or driving to be shared publicly?
✅ Will the instructor remain fully focused on teaching and my safety?
✅ Can I say no without it affecting my lessons or my relationship with the instructor?

Remember:

  • You are paying for professional driving instruction. Your lesson should always be the instructor’s first priority.
  • You should never feel pressured to appear in social media content.
  • If you don’t want to be filmed, tell your instructor. Your decision should be respected.
  • If you do agree, you can ask exactly how the footage will be used and whether it can be removed later if you change your mind.

A good instructor puts your learning, safety, and confidence ahead of creating content.

Your lesson. Your privacy. Your choice.

⚠️ Don’t suffer in silence.
